Ty Detmer: Football Star

Ty Detmer played football for Southwest High School from 1984-87. He is the most decorated football player to attend Southwest High School being named to the high school All-American Team and being awarded the Texas Football Player of the Year Award.  After graduation he chose to attend BYU where he set several school records during his time on the field.  By the end of his college career he had collected 2 O'Brien Awards, a Maxwell Award, was named UPI player of the Year, and in 1990 was awarded the Heisman Trophy.  He would go on to play for 6 different NFL teams.
